Ember is operated by Ky Ramzy as an independent, small-scale service. This is a real product used by real people, but it is not run by a large company with a dedicated legal team — if you have questions, email the address listed on the Safety page and you'll hear from an actual human who runs the app.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We check your date of birth when you sign up and it cannot be edited afterward. Creating an account using a false date of birth, or on behalf of a minor, is a violation of these Terms and grounds for an immediate, permanent ban.
You're responsible for the accuracy of your profile and for keeping your login credentials to yourself. One account per person. Profiles must be of yourself — impersonating another person or using photos that are not genuinely you is prohibited.
Every profile and photo is reviewed by a human before it becomes visible to other members. We may reject or remove a profile, photo, or message at our discretion, including (without limitation) for nudity, violence, illegal content, harassment, or suspected fake accounts. Photos are shown blurred to other members until you choose to reveal them to a specific match.
Prohibited: harassment, threats, hate speech, solicitation, scams, sharing others' private information, sending sexual content to someone who hasn't asked for it, or contacting someone who has blocked you. Violations can result in warnings, temporary suspension, or a permanent ban, depending on severity.
Any member can block or report another member at any time, from any profile, match, or message. Reports go to a human reviewer. We act on reports — including banning accounts — based on our judgment of the evidence provided.
The first 500 people to sign up receive Ember Premium free for life, tracked automatically at signup. After that, Premium is a paid monthly subscription billed through Stripe. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violating these Terms, at our reasonable discretion, particularly for safety-related violations (harassment, underage use, impersonation, threats).
Ember helps you meet people online; we cannot verify every claim a member makes about themselves, and we cannot guarantee anyone's identity, intentions, or safety in person. Always meet new people in public places and tell a friend where you're going. Ember is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
We may update these Terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated version number and date.
